The company’s earnings per share (EPS) came in at $0.24, 88% below analyst expectations of $1.98, while revenue came in at $2.034 billion, missing expectations of $2.09 billion by 3%. Despite this, the company made headlines today with a significant strategic move. According to the Wall Street Journal, Coinbase has reached an agreement to acquire Dubai-based crypto derivatives exchange Deribit for $2.9 billion. Deribit stands out as the world’s largest platform for Bitcoin and Ether options trading. It also offers futures and spot trading services.
